Liturgy For The Nuptials and Wedding Mass
Nuptials
Greeting
Celebrant: I welcome you, Lyndon and Mugdha, to the Church, the House of God. Today you are both going to be joined as husband and wife. May you recognise the good in each other, in every situation and when times are difficult, may God always give you the courage and strength to overcome it and come out triumphant.
God gave each of us the gift of life, so that we might bring His love into this world and each of us has a role to play to make that love real. Lyndon and Mugdha are here before us with hearts full of love, to pledge and to make their life together a thing of joy, warmth and tenderness. They want to offer each other the greatest gift a human being can give to another - the gift of one's total self - body, heart, mind and soul. Let us, who celebrate this love, join them in thanking God for this day and ask Him to keep them in love and happiness all of their days.
Instruction and Inquiry
Celebrant: Lyndon and Mugdha, you have come together in this church so that the Lord may seal and strengthen your love in the presence of the Church's minister and this community. In this way you will be strengthened to keep mutual and lasting faith with each other and to carry out the other duties of marriage.
And so, in the presence of the church, I ask you to state your intentions:
Celebrant: Lyndon, have you come here freely and without reservation, to give yourself to Mugdha, in marriage?
Lyndon: Yes, I have
Celebrant: Lyndon, will you love and honor Mugdha as your wife for the rest of your life?
Lyndon: Yes, I will
Celebrant: Lyndon, will you accept children lovingly from God, and bring them up according to the law of Christ and the Church?

Lyndon and Mugdha join right hands
Lyndon: I, Lyndon, take you Mugdha, to be my wife. I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, I will love you and honor you all the days of my life.

All pray silently for a while.
Nuptial Blessing
Celebrant: Holy Father, creator of the universe, maker of man and woman in your own likeness, source of blessing for the married life, we humbly pray to you, for Lyndon and Mugdha who are today united in the bond of marriage. May Your fullest blessing come upon them so that they may together rejoice in your gift of married love. May they be noted for their good lives, and be parents with virtue.
Lord may they both praise You when they are happy and turn to you in their sorrows. May they be glad that You help them in their work, and know that you are with them in their need. May they reach old age in the company of their friends and come at last to the bliss of eternal life.
We ask this through Christ our Lord
All: Amen
Closing Prayer - Our Father
Lighting of the Unity Candle
Narrator: Lyndon and Mugdha are going to light their Unity Candle, a symbol of their union in marriage. The individual candles from which they light it have been lit by their parents to represent their lives to this moment. The lights, representing the faith, wisdom, and love they have received from their parents, are distinct, each burning alone.
Lyndon and Mugdha will light the center candle to symbolize the union of their lives. As this one light burns undivided, so shall their love be one.
Lyndon and Mugdha light the unity candle
From now on, Lyndon and Mugdha, your thoughts shall be for each other rather than for your individual selves. Your joys and sorrows shall be shared alike. May the radiance of this common light be a testimony of your unity.
Lyndon and Mugdha also come into their marriage relationship as individuals and they do not lose their identity, rather they use their individuality to create and strengthen the relationship of marriage. Therefore, may these three candles burn brightly, one for each of them, and one for their marriage, as symbols of their commitment to each other and to a lasting and loving marriage.

Bind them together Lord,
Bind them together with cords that cannot be broken
Bind them together Lord,

First Reading
A reading from the first letter of Paul to the Corinthians (1 Corinthians 13:4-8)
Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right.
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.
This is the word of the Lord.
All: Thanks be to God
Responsorial Psalm
Your response will be: Happy are those who fear the Lord
Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in His ways
You shall eat the fruit of the labour of your hands,
You shall be happy, and it shall be well with you
All: Happy are those who fear the Lord
Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine within your house,
Your children like olive shoots around your table
All: Happy are those who fear the Lord
Lo, thus shall the man be blessed who fears the Lord,
The Lord bless you from Zion
May you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life.

Gospel
A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Mark (Mark 10: 6-9)
From the beginning of creation, God made them male and female. For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one body. So they are no longer two but one body. So then, what God has united, man must not divide.

Lyndon: God our Father, we can never thank you enough for Your loving care and concern for us, for surrounding us with expressions of your love, and goodness. Today our hearts are filled with joy and thanksgiving for the gift of each other, that You have given us. We ask You to be with us, in our married life to help us to be worthy of Your great love and goodness for us. We are grateful to You for making this day possible, in our life. We thank You for all who have helped make this day possible and meaningful. Bless our parents, brothers, relatives and friends.
Father as we begin our life’s journey together, be with us to inspire us, to guide us, to strengthen us. Help us to be true companions to each other, to stand by each other in moments of joy and suffering, in sickness and in health, in success and failure.
Father, help us make our home a place where love, respect, understanding, and forgiveness will be experienced not only by us who live there, but by all who come there too.
We make this prayer through Christ Our Lord.
All: Amen
Final Blessing
Hymn: Showers Of Blessing
There shall be showers of blessing
This is the promise of love
There shall be seasons refreshing
Sent from the Saviour above
Showers of blessings
Showers of blessings they need
Mercy drops around them are falling
But for the showers they plead
There shall be showers of blessings
Send them upon them o Lord
Grant to them now a refreshing
Come now and honour Thy word
There shall be showers of Blessings
O That today they might fall
Now as to God we're confessing
Now as on Jesus we call.
